About CANDO
Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization, also called CANDO, is a nonprofit neighborhood organization serving the Central neighborhood of Minneapolis. The Central neighborhood sits between Lake Street, Chicago Avenue, 38th Street, and I-35W. CANDO works to support residents, strengthen community connections, and help preserve the cultural heritage of the neighborhood, including the area around 38th Street and Chicago Avenue.


What CANDO Offers
CANDO offers neighborhood resources, community updates, local events, resident support, community education, youth environmental opportunities, eviction defense resources, facade improvement grants, and the Plant-Grow-Share program. Their work supports residents, small businesses, families, and community members through advocacy, education, organizing, and neighborhood-based programming.
